Meet the Service Coordinators Behind CLAAS FARMPOINT

If you farm anywhere within the CLAAS FARMPOINT footprint, there’s a good chance you already know one of our service coordinators by name. They’re the people who line up the right technician, keep parts moving and make sure service shows up when you need it. We spoke with three of them about what makes CLAAS FARMPOINT service different.

Preparation wins harvest

Ask any of our service coordinators what a grower should be doing right now and the answer is the same: get the machine inspected.

Tony Clark, who covers the Indiana and Kentucky CLAAS FARMPOINT region, has seen what a full inspection can prevent.

“If we go through the machine completely and get all the repairs out of the way, we catch 90 to 95 percent of things that could cause breakdowns during harvest,” he said. “If we can do that in the off season, it just keeps them rolling.”

Randy Tegtmeyer, who oversees the Iowa and South Dakota regions, puts it even simpler.

“I always say that’s the best preventative medicine,” Randy said. “Get your machine inspected before fall and it saves a tremendous amount of downtime.”

There’s a cost advantage too, since CLAAS FARMPOINT doesn’t charge to get there.

Service on demand. Service you can trust.

When something does come up, CLAAS FARMPOINT is designed to get to you fast.

“All our techs are mobile. I like to describe it as service on demand,” Randy said. “We can dispatch a tech as soon as they’re free.”

Part of what makes that speed possible is how well the team knows the ground. Terry Moser, who covers North Dakota, points to how spread out his territory is. His team has technicians stationed roughly every 50 to 60 miles, which keeps most calls close, even across a big region that’s still filling in.

It’s the same case in Tony’s territory in Kentucky and Indiana. His team continuously tracks how far along the crop is, so they’re ready a week or two before customers head to the field, not scrambling once the machines are running.

Built on relationships

A consistent theme across all CLAAS FARMPOINT locations is the importance of relationships. Many of the technicians have known their customers for years, and plenty of those working relationships have turned into real friendships along the way.

That shows up in the feedback the service coordinators hear from customers. Terry says customers regularly call back to tell him a technician was clean, efficient and kept them updated the whole time. And ask any of the three what they like best about the job, and it always comes back to the people.

There’s still time to get your machine ready before harvest. Inspections are booking now, so reach out to your local CLAAS FARMPOINT service coordinator to get on the schedule.
